Turning waste into wealth just got a massive financial push. The government has officially rolled out the Rs 23,731 crore GOBARdhan scheme to supercharge compressed biogas (CBG) production across the country.
Running through 2035-36, this initiative is all about transforming everyday organic waste—from agricultural leftovers and food scraps to cattle dung—into clean energy and organic manure. By offering up to 100% assured offtake for CBG producers alongside robust support like pipeline infrastructure and credit guarantees, the scheme removes market uncertainty, paving the way for a greener, more sustainable energy future.
